The Game Map
The map shows your playing area with checkpoints marked as colored circles (search zones):
- Blue circles: Checkpoints to be visited – tap to see details and check in
- Green circles: Check-in already submitted
Only available checkpoints are shown on the map. In ordered mode, you’ll see one checkpoint at a time.
Checkpoint Markers
Small numbered pins appear on the map to help you navigate:
- Show checkpoint location when zoomed out
- Display the checkpoint order number
- Automatically hide when you zoom in close to see the search zone clearly
Map Controls
Controls are located at the corners of the map:
- Zoom (+/-): Zoom in and out, or pinch on touchscreen
- Pan: Drag the map to move around
- Show/hide markers: Toggle checkpoint markers on or off
- Map type: Switch between satellite and road map view (if available)
- Center: Recenter the map on the checkpoints
Viewing Checkpoint Details
Tap on any checkpoint circle to see its details:
- A popup or modal appears
- You’ll see the reference photo – what you’re looking for
- Below it are instructions – what you need to do at this checkpoint
- Action buttons appear at the bottom
Viewing Photos in Fullscreen
Tap on the reference photo to see it larger. This helps you spot details you might miss in the smaller view.
Checking In at a Checkpoint
When you’ve found the location and are ready to complete the task:
- Read the instructions – make sure you understand what’s required
- Tap the checkpoint on the map to open it
- Tap “Check-in” button
- Take or select a photo that matches the reference and fulfills the instructions
- Wait for upload – a spinner shows progress
Photo Tips
- Follow the instructions: Make sure your photo shows you completed the required task
- Match the reference: Try to capture the same view as the reference photo
- Include landmarks: Show distinctive features that prove you’re there
- Be clear: Avoid blurry photos
- Good lighting: Make sure the subject is visible
After Submitting
Once you submit a check-in, continue to your next checkpoint. The organizer reviews submissions and you’ll see final results when the game ends.
